The bride

Favour Yakubu is a Christian who grew up in the youth church and now serves as a minister, helping others grow in faith and life just like she did. She works as a freelance book designer and publishing consultant, and she also owns Light Bookstore, an online bookstore in Abuja where people can easily buy good-quality physical books at affordable prices.

Favour loves reading and enjoys sharing that love with others by making books more available and affordable. She’s excited to begin this beautiful journey with the love of her life, doing life together and building a home and future that will be truly beautiful and worthy of emulation.

The Groom

Richard Imhoagene is a Christian and proud lover of God, with a keen passion for helping young teens grow in the Faith and as ambassadors in the workplace. He is the Founder and Creative Lead of ROCA Media Limited, a 360° Communications and Brand Strategy firm located in Abuja.

Richard loves Creative non-fiction, especially those covering politics, the state of being, and the beautiful quagmire called Nigeria. He's wholly committed to building a beautiful home with Favour, founded on Christ and His word.

Our love story

First time we met

We met in church, sometime in 2023 during a Singles Hangout with Pastor. She was the Assistant Branch Coordinator of Anvil (the Singles Ministry), so she walked up to me to welcome me to the meeting. She was very warm and welcoming.

First date

We had our first actual date in April 2024, just as friends. It was a great time at Millenium Park, Abuja. We could say that became the start of this beautiful journey.

Proposal

The proposal came on 15 May, 2025, exactly one year after we started dating. It was a beautiful set-up, with close friends and family present to witness the beautiful moment.

Engagement

Being proposed means we'd been engaged since then. We also had our Civil Wedding at the Federal Registry on 3 July, 2025 in the presence of friends, family, and well wishers. We can boldly say we've grown more in love with each other with the passage of time.
